TenorPosaune Web Development has created a widget for Apple's Dashboard application that brings the functionality of NextBus.com to your desktop. This software is free of charge under the GNU General Public License. TenorPosaune.net is not affiliated with NextBus.com.

According to NextBus, their system "combines Global Positioning System (GPS) data with patented predictive software to give every passenger, either on the Internet or at your stop, arrival times for the next few vehicles." In areas served by NextBus, this widget will tell you how many minutes until your vehicle arrives.

Version 3.0 has been completely overhauled to work in Leopard. With an entirely new codebase, this widget is much more flexible and will withstand changes both to OS X and to nextbus.com much more gracefully.
